Replacement of the spring plates



Diesel engine

If you remove the spring plate (fixing the front exhaust pipe and exhaust manifold), loosen and stretch to a new installation, it is done in a vice as follows.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Weakening
1. Locate the spring plate in the vise so that the wedge side shock was in 15 mM solution of the vise jaws.
2. Knock gently with a plastic hammer a wedge down.
Stretching
3. Locate the spring plate in the open 15 mm jaws so as shown.
4. Long wedge VW-3140A / 1 or HAZET 2586N-1 plastic hammer to drive in a spring plate until it stops. Thus the jaws have to be diluted by about 15 mm.
A warning

If the spring plate with a long wedge due to poor access is not set, drive close to the length of a short wedge 3140A / 2 (HAZEN: 2586N-2). Then turn the spring plate and knock a long wedge, while a short wedge will remain in place. Pay attention to the fact that, after knocking out a long wedge, short wedge lying on one of the jaws of the vice.
