Compression Test

Compression check allows you to make a conclusion about the state of the engine. The audit can determine the degree of wear of valves or pistons (piston ring) and the need to repair the engine. To verify the required compressometer that gasoline engines can be bought in the automobile.

A warning

For the diesel engine needs a large scale compressometer measurement.

The difference in pressure between the individual cylinders must not exceed 3.0 bar (5.0 bar diesel engine). If one or more cylinders have a pressure difference in excess of 3.0 bar (5.0 bar diesel engine), then this indicates a faulty valves, piston ring wear or cylinder wall. When the limit is necessary to sort out the engine wear or replace.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. When checking compression engine must be at operating temperature. The oil temperature at least 30 ? C.
2. Turn off the ignition.
3. Pull the plug from the Hall sensor on the ignition distributor.
4. Remove the fuse from the fuse box ?15.
5. Disconnect the spark plug all plugs. For this there are special pincers, for example HAZET 1849. They capture the plug only tin sleeve.
6. Blow off dirt with compressed air niche of spark plugs in the cylinder head and remove all spark plugs suitable spark plug wrench.
7. Scroll repeatedly engine starter for the flue.

A warning

Transmission in neutral, the hand brake is tightened.

8. Attach and tighten according to instructions for use, the cylinder compression gauge into the hole for the candle.
9. Squeeze the pedal to the end and during the test period to hold in this position. You need a helper.
10. Turn the engine by about 8 turns until the Compression not established a constant pressure.
11. Check consistently all cylinders and compare the readings with the required values.
12. Install the spark plug and connect the high voltage wires.
13. Connect the plug to the Hall sensor.
14. Install the fuse ?15.

Heat insulator

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Warm up the engine in motion, until the coolant temperature of 80 ? C.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the switch Fuel pump, insulated and put aside.
3. Clean Injection means of cold clearing pipes and removed without changing their curved shape.
4. Remove the nozzle (see. Subsection 2.17.7.5).
5. Install the compression gauge in place of the nozzle, while setting a Compression between the cylinder head and the old thermal insulator.

A warning

These pressure data are valid only when they are measured by Compression VW-1381 with adapter VW1323 / 2A. Other devices can only be measured by the difference in pressure between the individual cylinders (see. Fig. Measurement of compression).

6. Crank the engine for about 8 rotations until the reading is stabilized.
7. Install the nozzle and tighten to 70 Nm.

A warning

Thermal insulation between the cylinder head and replace the nozzles always. The recess must be set up (see. Fig. The heat insulator).

8. Tighten Injection pipes 25 N ? m.
9. Connect the wires to switch the fuel supply.
