Egnition lock
Engine starting
If your car is equipped with Hyundai manual gearbox, move the gearshift lever into neutral and fully depress the clutch pedal.
If your car is equipped with Hyundai automatic gearbox, move the selector lever to position "P" ("Park").
To start the engine, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "START" ("Starter"). Release the ignition key immediately after the engine starts. Do not hold the ignition key to position "START" ("Starter") for more than 15 seconds. A warning For safety reasons, the motor vehicle can not be started if the selector of an automatic transmission is not in position "P" ("Park") or "N" ("neutral gear") (only for vehicles with automatic transmission). A warning Do not turn off the engine and do not remove the key from the ignition while driving. This will lock the steering wheel, and the car becomes unmanageable.
START ("Starter")
Start up the engine by turning the ignition switch to START. The motor will rotate the starter until you release the key, which he will return to ON. ON ("ON")

The shaft of the steering wheel anti-theft device is locked and the steering wheel can not be rotated. So the car is protected from theft.
