Start the engine from the storage battery of other car
Start using the connection cables can be dangerous if it is executed properly. Therefore, in order to avoid personal injury or damage to the vehicle battery or stick to the procedure given below.
Keep a reasonable distance from the battery all sources of flame or sparks. The battery produces hydrogen, which can explode if exposed to flame or sparks. Do not try to start up the engine, if the discharged battery is frozen or if it has a low level of electrolyte, the battery can burst or explode.
The start of the engine from the storage battery of other car:
PERFORMANCE ORDER | 1. Make sure that the auxiliary battery has a voltage of 12 V and that its negative terminal is grounded. | 2. Check the electrolyte level in each battery bank. | 3. If the donor battery is in another vehicle, do not allow the vehicles come in contact. | 4. Turn off all unnecessary electrical consumers. | 5. Connect all cables in the exact sequence shown in Figure 120. First, connect one end of the cable to the positive (+) terminal discharged battery, then the other end of the same cable to the positive (+) terminal of the auxiliary battery. Then connect one end of the second cable to the negative (-) terminal of the auxiliary battery, and then the other end to mass, fixed metallic point (for example, engine mount) in addition to the battery. Do not connect the cable to the moving parts or in their vicinity, as during start-up, they could be damaged. Do not connect the cable from the negative (-) terminal of the auxiliary battery to the negative terminal (-) low battery. Do not let the cable touch anything except the appropriate battery terminals or the correct ground. When connecting cables do not lean over the battery. | | The sequence of connecting cables when the engine is started from the battery of another vehicle. | 6. let the engine of the car with a booster battery and let it run at a speed of 2000 min -1. Then start up the engine of the car with the discharged battery.
If the cause of your battery discharging is not apparent, such as car headlights were accidentally switched on, you have to take the car to check the Hyundai authorized dealer. |
