Towing

Towing with raised above the ground wheel drive

As a general rule, cars must be towed off the ground wheel drive. If due to significant damage to the vehicle or because of other circumstances, the vehicle can not be towed with the drive wheels raised, use a cart.

Towing a vehicle with manual transmission

In the case of the towing vehicle with the front wheels raised, make sure that the parking brake is off.

In the case of the towing vehicle with the rear wheels raised, make sure the transmission is in the neutral position. Also, make sure the ignition key is in the "ACC" ("Options"). This is necessary to prevent damage to the locking mechanism of the steering wheel, which is not designed to hold the front wheels in the straight position while towing the car.

In case of damage to any of the items loaded wheels or suspension, it is necessary to use the truck for towing.

Towing a vehicle with automatic transmission

It does not tow the vehicle with an automatic transmission, rear part of the vehicle forward with the rear wheels raised

A warning

Do not tow a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission, rear part of the vehicle forward with the rear wheels raised. This could seriously damage the transmission. If necessary, the rear of the towing vehicle ahead, the front wheels must be located on the towing carriage.

In the case of the towing vehicle with the rear wheels raised, make sure that the parking brake is off.

In the case of the towing vehicle when all the wheels are on the road, it can be towed only the front of the vehicle ahead. Make sure the transmission is in the neutral position. Towing speed must not exceed 50 km / h and the distance towed should not exceed 25 km.

Make sure the steering wheel is unlocked, turn the ignition key to the "ACC" ("Options"). When towing, the driver must be in the vehicle to control it.
