Checking the status of the power system components (every 12 000 km (7500 miles) or time in 6 months)

Gasoline is extremely flammable liquid least, so when working with components of the power supply system of the car must follow some special precautions. Work should be done in a well ventilated area, which should not be fueled by natural gas and equipped with a control torch heating devices (such as the water heater and dryer for clothes and shoes) is unacceptable approach to the place of work with a lit cigarette, naked flames or unprotected shade redurable . Due to the aggressiveness of gasoline, where there is a danger of spillage during execution of a procedure, wear protective latex gloves. Caught in the open areas of the body petrol immediately rinse with plenty of water and soap. At hand should always be a Class B fire extinguisher

The fuel tank is located under the rear car.

Check the power supply system is best done on a raised vehicle when there is free access to the components located underneath.

If while driving or after the vehicle is parked in the sun, in the cabin there is a smell of petrol, should immediately make an inspection of the power supply system.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the cover from the fuel intake and check for damage, corrosion and defects in the sealing insert on the strip. If necessary, replace the lid on new.
  2. In the car off the ground, check the fuel tank and the filler neck for the presence of holes, cracks and other damages. Particular attention should be paid to the connection node of the neck of the tank. Sometimes fuel leaks occur owing to easing of collars (bandages) fixing rubber cap or the aging of its material. Elimination of such defects is quite able to average mechanic-fan.

Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair its own fuel tank (with the exception of rubber components). Torch torch or any other type of open flame can cause the explosion of fuel vapor, if not to take special precautions specific!

  1. Carefully check the condition of all hoses and fuel lines running from the fuel tank. Try to identify the signs of loosening of compression fittings, the aging of the hose material, the strain lines and other defects. Make replacement of damaged sections.
  2. If, after the removal of all reported faults smell of fuel is still present in the cabin, please refer to the materials Unit Check of serviceability of functioning of system EVAP (every 48 000 km (30,000 miles) or every two years).
