Check of serviceability of functioning of system EVAP (every 48 000 km (30,000 miles) or every two years)
EVAP system is designed to remove a special carbon adsorber gasoline vapors from the fuel tank and the cavities of the power of the car is stationary. Adsorber fuel after engine start is output to the inlet conduit, and then is burned in the combustion chamber during normal engine operation. The most common symptom of a malfunction of the fuel vapor recovery system is the emergence of a strong smell of gasoline in the left corner of the engine compartment under the car. Immediately check the status of a coal adsorber, which is located in the engine compartment of the car. Check adsorber and all hoses for signs of damage and aging of the material. | The carbon adsorber system EVAP is located in the left front corner of the engine compartment - check the condition of the canister as well as all connected hoses. |
Details of the construction and operation of the fuel vapor recovery system discussed in Chapter systems reduce emissions and engine management.
