The temperature sensor of air entering the engine (IAT)
The temperature sensor of air entering the engine is in an air nozzle and a thermistor whose resistance varies with temperature. The ECM allows for the sensor signal and adjusts the pulse width supplied to the nozzle, thereby changing the amount of fuel supplied to the engine cylinders, and the ignition timing changes. Check sensor | 1. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the sensor. 2. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the sensor connector. Temperature | Resistance | 0 ? C | 3.3-3.7 | 20 ? C | 2.4-2.8 | 40 ? C | 1.6-2.0 | 80 ? C | 0.5-0.9 |
3. If the sensor output voltage is not correct, replace the sensor. |
