:20. Throttle position (TP)

Throttle position sensor transmits the information upon which the ECM determines when the throttle is closed, fully open or in intermediate positions. The sensor is rigidly connected to the throttle shaft. Depending on the throttle position sensor resistance changes.

Adjustment (2.0 L DOHC)

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Connect the scanner to the diagnostic connector.

2. In the absence of the scanner, connect a digital voltmeter between terminals 1 and 3 of the connector.

3. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine and measure the output voltage of the sensor.

Output voltage: 300-900 mV

4. If the voltage is different from that given in the specification, loosen the screws that secure the sensor and adjust the tension by turning the sensor.
Rotate the sensor clockwise to increase the output voltage. After the adjustment, securely tighten the screws.

5. Turn the ignition off.
