Checking the components of the suspension and steering
 | Components of a steering drive and suspension should be checked regularly. Worn or damaged suspension components and the steering gear can cause excessive and dangerous tire wear, deterioration of driving performance and handling and increased fuel consumption. For more information on the components of the suspension and steering systems, refer to Chapter Brake System. |
Check-absorber strut
| 1. Poddomkratte car and reliably establish it on support. 2. Inspect the suspension struts for signs of damage and gas leaks. 3. Check the reliability and integrity of the installation rack. Check the upper support struts for damage and wear. In the event of such replace the rack. |

Checking the status of the steering system and suspension
| 1. Inspect the components of the steering system for damage and deformation. Look for signs of fluid leakage, damaged gaskets, protective covers and couplings. 2. Clean the lower end of the knuckle. Ask the assistant to grab the bottom edge of the wheel and shake it, and themselves at this time, watch the movement of ball joints that connect the knuckle with a lever. Inspect the protective covers of spherical support for breaks. If you find a play or torn or leaking protective covers, a spherical support (support) should be replaced. | 3. Grasp each of the front wheels of the front and rear edges and try to turn it into the front edge and the rear outside to check for play in the steering transmission. If backlash is found, check for loose mounting of the steering mechanism and hinges of steering drafts. If weakened attachment, tighten them. If weakened tie rods, then the cause may be worn joints (first check the reliability of a tightening of nuts). For more information on the steering system and suspension can be found in Chapter Brake System. |

Check backlash steering
| 1. Place the steering wheel in the middle position. 2. Move the steering wheel from side to side, watching while behind the front wheels. The steering wheel can have a maximum gap of 15 mm. 3. Loose the steering wheel, check the steering control, steering and front suspension bearing play. 4. Strongly move your hand tie rods (4) left and right. Ball joint (5) must not have play, otherwise replace hinges or tie rods. | 5. Light the lamp dust caps (5) and check for damage. At the same time pay attention to the grease. |
6. If there is damage, replace the cap of the appropriate precautions hinge with a cap. Penetrating dirt destroys the joint. |
|
Checking the tips of steering rods, ball joints and steering covers
| | 1. Light the lamp anthers ball bearings on the left and the right, and check for damage. |
2. Light bulb duster rod end right and left and check for damage. 3. If damage anthers security reasons should be replaced with an appropriate joint bellow. Pollution destroy the hinge. 4. Strongly move the tie rod arm in different directions. The hinge can have backlash. Otherwise, you must replace the tie rod end. 5. Check the reliability of tightening locknuts tips of steering drafts and nut finger joint, not turning it. The tightening torque is given in the specification. | 6. Check the protective covers from the steering mechanism, if necessary, replace with new ones. |
7. Check the reliability of mounting external (2) and internal (3) clamping rings. |
