CAUSE | SOLUTION |
When you turn on the ignition warning light battery charging |
Low Battery | Check the voltage and, if necessary, recharge the battery. |
Unreliable connection or oxidation of the battery terminals | Check the connection and, if necessary, clean the battery terminals. |
Securely tightened or oxidized at the contact wire generator | Check and, if necessary, pull wire attachment to the generator. |
Blown control light | Replace the bulb. |
Faulty voltage regulator | Check and, if necessary, replace the voltage regulator. |
Broken wire between the generator, ignition switch and control lamp | Check the voltage of the circuit, from the generator. |
Brushes generator not flush against the contact rings | Check the length of the brushes and their freedom of movement in the holders. |
Burned field winding | Check rotor and diodes that defects that need to be replaced. |
The warning lamp does not go out charging with an increase in engine speed |
A slack or worn V-ribbed belt | Check the condition of the V-ribbed belt tensioner and belt. |
Faulty clutch idling (only TDI) | Remove the generator and turn counterclockwise shaft generator. If it does not rotate the movable pulley surface, then the idling clutch is defective. |
Faulty alternator or voltage regulator | Disconnect from the back of the alternator wire (D +) and switch on the ignition. If the warning light is still lit up, it means that faulty alternator or voltage regulator. |
Worn brushes Voltage Regulator | Check the length of the brush and, if necessary, replace them. |
Faulty voltage regulator | Check voltage regulator and, if necessary, replace it. |
Faulty Generator | Check generator and, if necessary, replace it. |
Defective wire connecting the generator voltage regulator | Disconnect the blue wire to the electrical connector block 12 T32A junction box. If after that the control lamp is lit, the D + wire is shorted to ground and the need to replace the wire. |
Faulty junction box | Disconnect the blue wire from the electric socket T32A. If, after this warning lamp lights up, it means that faulty junction box. |
The warning lamp lights up when charging the ignition off |
Short circuit diode | Check and, if necessary, replace the diode. |
