The engine starting system
If the starter does not work in key position "engine start", the following reasons: - Faulty battery; - Open circuit between the ignition switch, the traction relay, accumulative rum and starter; - Nreispravno traction relay; - Mechanical or electrical defect starter. To check the battery light the lights. If they fade after a few seconds, it means the battery is low. Recharge or replace the battery. If the lights do not dim, turn the starter and watch the light. If they are dimmer means, the voltage supplied to the starter and is a fault therein. If the lights continue to burn brightly (and there is no mouse pulling the starter relay), it indicates that there is a fault in the electrical circuit or the traction relay is faulty. If the starter rotates slowly and the battery is in good condition, it indicates that the starter has failed or there is considerable resistance in the starter circuit. If damage is suspected in the circuit, disconnect the battery and clean the connections and contacts in the food chain starter. Reconnect the battery and, using a voltmeter, check the voltage on the elements of the electrical circuit to the starter. If the battery and the electrical circuit is in good condition, remove the power cord from the traction relay and connect the voltmeter. Turn the ignition key to the "start of the engine." In this position should have a full battery voltage. Contacts traction relay can be checked by connecting a voltmeter between contact magnetic switch connected to the starter and the ground. When you turn the ignition key to the "engine start" the voltmeter should show pressure. If there is no faulty solenoid traction relay or burned contacts of the traction relay. If the electrical circuit and the traction relay are serviceable, means the starter is defective.
