Towing a trailer or a vehicle

A warning

Refrain from towing a trailer during the first 2,000 kilometers to ensure the running of parts of the new car. Failure to observe this precaution could cause serious damage to the engine or transmission.

Towing hooks

Choose the right combination of towing equipment, making sure that its location coincides with the point of attachment on the trailer or towed vehicle. Use a towing device which evenly distributes the load on the chassis.
A warning

Do not connect a trailer brake system to brake the car.
When towing a trailer on a steep incline (greater than 12%), pay particular attention to the coolant temperature of the engine to prevent overheating of the engine. If the temperature gauge engine coolant entered into the "H" (hot) scale, stop the car in a safe place and allow the engine to idle until it cools down. After that you can continue to move.

The maximum weight of the trailer and the maximum load on the coupling

The load on the coupling can be increased or decreased by redistributing the load on the trailer. You can verify this by checking the total weight of the loaded trailer and check the load on the coupling device.
A warning

Do not load the trailer so that the rear section has been downloaded more than the front. 60% of the weight of the load in the trailer should be in the forward half of the trailer, and the remaining 40% to the rear half.
The total weight of the trailer should not exceed the figures shown in the table.
The load on the front or rear axle shall not exceed the maximum axle load specified on the identification plate of the car. Perhaps trailer weight does not exceed the total weight of the car, but exceed the maximum axle load. Improper loading of the trailer and / or too much luggage in the trunk of the vehicle may lead to an overload of the rear axle. Redistribute the load, and then check the load on the axle.
The maximum permissible static vertical load on the coupling device is 50 kg.

A warning

Improper loading of your vehicle and the trailer can seriously affect the operation of the steering and brake systems, which can result in a traffic accident in which you can be seriously affected.

Tips for driving with a trailer

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before towing, check the connection of the coupling devices, the safety circuits, as well as work lighting lamps, stop lamps and direction indicators of the trailer.
2. Always try to move at a moderate speed.
3 Trailer towing requires more fuel.
4. For effective engine braking and operation of the charging system does not include a fifth gear (manual gearbox) or overdrive (automatic transmission).
5. Always secure the luggage in the trailer, so it can not be thrown on the road while driving.
6. Always secure the luggage in the trailer, so it can not be thrown on the road while driving.
7. The combination of car / trailer is more susceptible to side winds and shock waves.
If you are overtaken by a large car, keep the steering wheel straight and follow the constant speed. If the shock wave of air from the passing vehicle is too strong, slow down.
8. When parking the car and the trailer, especially on a slope, follow the usual precautions. Turn the front wheels towards the curb, engage the parking brake and move the shift lever to the position of 1st gear or reverse gear (manual gearbox) or move the selector lever to position "P" ("Park") (automatic transmission). Moreover, place the blocks in each wheel trailer.
9. If the trailer is equipped with electric brakes, start your vehicle and trailer movement and turn the trailer brake controller hands to make sure the brakes work. It will also help to check the wiring connections.
10. When traveling, periodically check the reliability of mounting luggage and work lights and brake lights of the trailer.
11. Avoid sudden starting, sudden acceleration and sudden braking.
12. Avoid sharp turns and abrupt change of range of motion.
13. Avoid too long or frequent holding brake pedal is depressed. This may cause overheating of the brakes and reducing their effectiveness.
14. Before a gradient downshift to make full use of the engine braking effect. In protracted rise downshift and slow down traffic to avoid excessive load on the engine and / or overheating of the engine.
15. When you stop when climbing up the mountain, do not hold the vehicle in place by pressing the accelerator pedal. This can lead to overheating of the automatic transmission. Use the brake pedal or parking brake.

A warning

In the case of engine overheating during towing (coolant temperature gauge in the red zone), you can correct the problem as follows:

1. Turn off the air conditioner.
2. Reduce the speed of the car.
3. When lifting the switch down a gear.
4. If you are in a traffic jam, move the lever to position "P" ("Park") or "N" ("neutral gear") and let the engine run at increased idle speed.
