Check and replacement of rubber pillows of support of the engine

Engine Supports rarely require attention, but in the case of damage or signs of aging material rubber pads must be replaced immediately, otherwise increasing vibration may cause failure, worn or damaged components of the transmission line of the car.

Poddomkratte car and establish it on props, then start the jack under the sump. At the head of a jack and the pallet load to lay a piece of wood. Carefully lift off the engine by removing the weight from the supports. In no case did not perform any work by car, held in the raised position by means of a jack! Check the rubber pillows of support for cracks, signs of hardening or separation from the metal substrate. Sometimes the rubber cracks and splits right down the middle cushion. To assess the relative gap between the plates and the body supports the engine / frame (use as leverage a large screwdriver or a crowbar). If backlash occurs, lower the engine and tighten the hardware supports. To slow the aging process of the material supports pillows should be covered with a protective structure.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then Poddomkratte car and set it to backup (if you have not done it before). Slightly lift the engine a jack or hoist (be careful not to hit the radiator and fan cowl). Loosen the nut of the through-bolts and mounting bolts to the frame. Typical components of the supports 6-cylinder engine (shown in the driver's side of the car). Remove through bolt with a nut and remove the rubber pad (Hob) support. Install in reverse order. Lubricate the bolt locking sealant. Track reliability of a tightening of fixture.
