Removal and installation of the front axle assembly

- Details of the installation of the front axle assembly shown in the illustrations, which include all the links in the text.
- Remove the front wheels.
- Remove the front shock absorbers (see. Section Removal, check and installation of the front shock absorbers).
- Disconnect the electrical wiring connectors speed sensor (L6 / 1x1 and L6 / 2x1).
- Disconnect the brake line from the flexible brake hoses (see chap. Brakes and auxiliary systems).
- Disconnect the propeller shaft from the inlet flange of the front differential (see chap. The transmission line).
- Remove the torsion spring front suspension (see. Section Removal and installation of torsion springs).
- Remove protection crankcase.
- Disconnect the hose torsion bar (28) on the vehicle frame.
- Disconnect from the frame upper control arm (6).
- At a corresponding complete set remove the subframe mounting brackets line path cooling ATF.
- Release from the clamps on the rear side of the subframe (1), brake lines.
- On models equipped with Xenon headlamps, unplug the right lower arm rod (95b) control the level landing.
- Pump the hydraulic fluid from the tank GUR.
- Turn the steering wheel to position the straight-ahead and lock it by removing the key from the ignition, - rotation of the steering wheel with the steering column disconnected can cause damage to the spiral contact drum horn circuit and driver airbags.
- At a corresponding complete disconnect from the cylinder head cover wiring connector sensitive to the speed of the steering system hydrostrengthening (SPS).
- Loosen the nut (25d), remove the bolt and gently release the lower steering column shaft (80a) of the input node of the steering mechanism (25) - if necessary, slightly unclench lock with a screwdriver.

- Releasing the flare nuts / removing hollow bolts compression fittings, remove the pressure (30i) and return (30f) tract GUR hydraulic lines - immediately plug the open ends of choke sockets.
- Disconnect the breather hose from the differential housing.
- Prop up the front axle sub-frame (1) and remove the self-locking bolts (1f), - the bolts must be replaced without fail.
- Move aside the hoses of the whole, lower the assembly of the bridge.
- If necessary, remove the frame and make replacement of rubber pillows of support suspension of transmission, extraction / landing sleeves made using a special extractor.
- Installation is in the reverse order - the final tightening fasteners wishbone only after lowering the car to the ground. When connecting the steering shaft rack gear should be brought into a neutral (straight) position. Do not forget about the need to perform replacement of the sealing elements choke connectors hydraulic lines.
- Finally, adjust fluid levels of brake system and steering, remove the air from the hydraulic path.
- Adjust the direction of the optical axes of the headlights and adjust the suspension geometry.
