Removal, check and installation of the front shock absorbers

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Replace the shock absorbers should be done in pairs!

All the self-locking nuts and bolts must be replaced without fail!

  1. Details of the installation of the front shock absorbers are shown in the illustration, which includes all the links in the text.
  2. Release the upper strut mount.
  3. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props.
  4. Remove the front wheels and wheel arch lockers protection.
  5. Release nut and remove the retaining bolt (11u), disconnect the shock absorber from the lower control arm (4) and pull it out from under the car.
  6. Loosen the nut (11a) and remove the components of the upper damping unit (11a ÷ 11f).

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Assess the components defective details replace.

The upper (11c) and bottom (11d) cushions vary in stiffness and should be established strictly on the former places - usually cushion appropriately marked or painted in different colors: top - white, bottom - in yellow. Observe also the correctness of the installation into place washers (11b, 11e and 11f).

  1. Carefully review the state of the piston rod of the shock absorber - in the case of deformation or of a violation of the smooth progress of the piston shock absorber must be replaced.
  2. Assess the sleeve lower strut.
  3. Make sure there are no signs of external leaks.
  4. Replace defective shock absorber - better in the second set.

Setting

Installation is the reverse order of dismantle of components.
