Removal and installation of the main brake cylinder

- Open the hood and fix it in an upright position.
- Remove the trim panel of the power unit and the cover mounting fuse / relay box.
- Disconnect the electrical wiring from the tank GTZ (10).
- Disconnect vacuum line (8) of the brake booster (16).
- On diesel models, release the latches on the bulkhead of the vacuum line (8a), as well as an auxiliary line.
- Disconnect from the vacuum pump (24), hose (27).
- Release the hose (21) from the bracket (28).
- Separate hoses from mounting fuse / relay box and take out the engine.
- Preliminary having marked, disconnect the brake lines from the GTZ (5), - immediately plug the open ends of choke sockets.
- With the appropriate equipment, disconnect the wiring from the sensors 1 and 2 brake pressure ESP (B4 / B34 and 1/2), - release the tabs on the bottom side of the connector.
- Give the self-locking nuts (19) securing the GTZ (1), - the nuts must be replaced without fail.
- At a corresponding complete set remove thermofilter (1b).
- At a corresponding complete set remove the engine compartment bulkhead anti-theft alarm siren.
- Pull horizontally and remove the GTZ with the brake servo unit and transfer it to the workbench.
- Check cylinder for signs of leakage from the back side of the primary piston, if necessary, replace the assembly.
- On models with Manual transmission disconnect the hose from the tank GTZ operator clutch (10b), - immediately plug the open end of the choke connector.
- Pump out of the reservoir (10), brake fluid, then pulling vertically, remove it from the assembly of the GTZ (1).
- Check the condition of the sealing seat bushing (9), if necessary, replace.
- Installation is performed in reverse order - do not forget to replace the O-ring (1a) and self-locking nuts of the cylinder.
