ECU memorizes the fault code (warning light engine management system does not light up) when two driving cycles knock sensor signal voltage falls below 650 mV for 4 with under the following conditions:

- A starter is not working;

- The engine speed above 3000 ^min -1;

- Coolant temperature is above 40 ?� C;

- Engine load greater than 2.5 ms.

The output of this code indicates the detection of unusual vibration signals ECU knock sensor during normal engine operation.

Check

Disconnect the sensor electrical connector and check the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 (Fig. 2.259).

Nominal value: about 5 megohms at 20 ?� C.

If the ohmmeter indicates the presence of the chain, replace the knock sensor.

Tightening torque knock sensor: 16-25 Nm.

Check the capacitance between terminals 1 and 2.

Nominal value: 800-1600 pF.
