Terms storing fault codes

ECU memorizes the code R0116 and includes a warning light engine management system, if the actual sensor performance for 0.2 to two cycles of driving is more than 20 ? C below the curve mode control unit (determined by the quantity of fuel supplied, and the ambient temperature running time of the engine). This code indicates the value of uncharacteristic coolant temperature, issued by the coolant temperature sensor and the ECU. The computer shows the code R0117 and includes a warning light engine management system if, within 0.2 to two cycles of driving gives the coolant temperature sensor temperature is below -45 ? C.
The computer shows the code R0118 and includes a warning light engine management system if, within 0.2 to two cycles of driving the coolant temperature sensor provides the temperature above 140 ? C.

NOTE
DTOZH resistance varies with temperature as follows:
- 5900 ohms at 0 ? C;
- 2500 ohms at 20 ? C;
- 300 ohms at 80 ? C.

Check
Remove the coolant temperature sensor from the intake manifold.

Check the resistance of the coolant temperature sensor
Fig. 2.243. Check the resistance of the coolant temperature sensor

Check the resistance of the sensor, the sensor by immersing it in hot water (Fig. 2.243).
In the event of resistance from the norm, replace the sensor.

Setting
Coat the threaded part of the sensor sealant LOCTITE 962T or equivalent.
Tighten the coolant temperature sensor and zatyanite it to the specified torque.
Tightening torque, coolant temperature: 15-20 Nm.
