Checking the coolant level



The coolant level should be checked regularly, roughly every fourth week, at least, before the big trip. Low coolant level, the machines with the appropriate equipment, indicates a constant glow indicator light on the instrument panel.

To fill to apply also in the warm season, but a mixture of antifreezing agent VW GH (or other additives specification TL-VW 774V) and clean water with a low lime content.

The total number of refueling (all engines): about 9.0 liters.


A warning

To continue the movement can also, especially in the summer, add clean water. Then, without delay, to restore a concentration of antifreeze.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The coolant level when the engine is cold (coolant temperature 20 ?� C) must be between the MAX and MIN marks on the expansion tank. When the engine is warm level should be placed slightly above the MAX mark.
2. The amount of cold coolant refill only when the engine is cold, to avoid damaging the engine.

A warning

Open the cover when the engine is warm gently. Avoid burns When you open the lid to impose rags. If possible, open the lid when the coolant temperature is below 90 ?� C.


3. First unscrew the cover up a little to give exit overpressure. Then turn the lid on and remove.
4. Check for leaks by visual inspection if the coolant level in a short time rapidly fell.
