Ignition coil

When installing the ignition switch is turned ON (?Ignition") or START (?starter") voltage is applied to the ignition coil. The ignition coil comprises two coils. Each of them is connected to a high voltage wire to the spark plugs of the corresponding cylinders. Each power stroke ignition coil generates a high-voltage pulses to the two spark plugs (the cylinder on the compression stroke and the cylinder on the exhaust stroke). The coil number 1 controls iskroobrazova-tion in the 1st and 4th cylinders, and the coil number 2 - the 2nd and 3rd cylinders.
The engine control unit provides the excitation of the primary coil windings through their connection with "weight". The time of the control signal to the ignition coil is determined by the control unit based on signals from the crankshaft position sensor. When applying or removing a voltage on the primary winding is induced in the secondary winding high voltage pulse which is applied to the appropriate spark plug.
