| - Illustrative material on procedures for checking the discharge characteristics of the power steering pump is shown in the illustrations, which include all the links in the text.
- Open the lid (30g) and evacuate from the tank of the steering pump hydraulic fluid.
- Disconnect from the pump discharge hose expansion (30i) and connect to the last transition nozzle (038a).
- By fitting the pump, connect the adapter nozzle (038b).
- Connect the pressure gauge (039) between the transition nozzles (038a and 038b).
- Fill the tank with fresh power steering fluid to the required level.
- Start the engine and lift it up to 1000 revolutions per minute.
- Close the throttle valve (039a) and read the pressure gauge reading is the maximum working pressure of the pump GUR - try to consider reading as quickly as possible in order to avoid the risk of overheating the oil. Compare result of measurement with a nominal value (see. Specifications).
- Stop the engine and pump out the oil from the power steering reservoir.
- Remove the pressure gauge and restore the original connection of hydraulic lines - do not forget to replace the O-ring choke expansion hose connector (30i).
- Fill the reservoir of the required amount of fresh fluid (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust).
- Finally, visually check the hydraulic power steering tract for signs of leaks.
