- Check the camshaft to the absence of uneven wear, cracks or damage.
| - At two points, measure the height of each cam camshaft.
|
The nominal height of the cams of the inlet camshaft: - Engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, except CVVT: 44.820 mm; - Engines of 1.6 liters: 43.4484 mm.
The nominal height of the exhaust camshaft: - Engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, except CVVT: 44.720 mm; - Engines of 1.6 liters: 43.8489 mm.
Minimum permissible height of the cams of the inlet camshaft: - Engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, except CVVT: 44.720 mm; - Engines of 1.6 liters: 42.9484 mm.
Minimum permissible height of the exhaust camshaft: - Engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, except CVVT: 44.620 mm; - Engines of 1.6 liters: 43.3489 mm.
- Check the surface of the cam to the absence of uneven wear and damage.
- Check each bearing damage. If the working surface of the bearing excessively damaged, replace the cylinder head or the camshaft bearing cap.
Axial backlash of a camshaft: - Engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters: 0.1-0.2 mm; - Engines of 1.6 liters: 0.1-0.15 mm.
