Camshafts



Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose.
  1. Remove the water pump pulley and the crankshaft.
  1. Remove the cover of a gear belt.
  2. Take toothed belt tensioning roller and temporarily secure it in this position.
  3. Remove a gear belt from a camshaft pulley.
  4. Remove the screws and remove the central cover.
  5. Remove the ignition coils.
  1. Remove the bolts and remove the cylinder head cover.
  1. Remove the camshaft pulley.
  1. Remove the camshaft bearing cap and chain.
  1. Remove camshafts.
  2. Remove the shims and the tappets.
  1. Place the shims and the tappets in such a manner that when sborksa. If the working edge is worn or damaged, replace the O-ring.
  2. Check the surface of the camshaft contact with the sealing ring. If the surface is uniformly worn, replace the camshaft. ie they are established in the original positions.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the camshaft to the absence of uneven wear, cracks or damage.
  1. At two points, measure the height of each cam camshaft.

The nominal height of the cams of the inlet camshaft:

- Engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, except CVVT: 44.820 mm;
- Engines of 1.6 liters: 43.4484 mm.

The nominal height of the exhaust camshaft:

- Engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, except CVVT: 44.720 mm;
- Engines of 1.6 liters: 43.8489 mm.

Minimum permissible height of the cams of the inlet camshaft:

- Engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, except CVVT: 44.720 mm;
- Engines of 1.6 liters: 42.9484 mm.

Minimum permissible height of the exhaust camshaft:

- Engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, except CVVT: 44.620 mm;
- Engines of 1.6 liters: 43.3489 mm.

  1. Check the surface of the cam to the absence of uneven wear and damage.
  2. Check each bearing damage. If the working surface of the bearing excessively damaged, replace the cylinder head or the camshaft bearing cap.

Axial backlash of a camshaft:

- Engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters: 0.1-0.2 mm;
- Engines of 1.6 liters: 0.1-0.15 mm.

Forward sealing ring of a camshaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the working edges of a sealing ring for wear. If the working edge is worn or damaged, replace the O-ring.
  1. Check the surface of the camshaft contact with the sealing ring. If the surface is uniformly worn, replace the camshaft.
