Glow plugs

Glow GSK2

1 - electrical contact
2 - insulating washer
3 - double gasket
4 - contact pin
5 - shell glow
6 - insulation heater
7 - the heater and the thread control
8 - heated tube
9 - heater

Glow plug is protected by a gas-tight tubular heating element. Element is in the form of a tube with high resistance to corrosion and hot gases and comprises a heating element disposed in the powder of magnesium oxide.

The heater element comprises two resistors connected: coil heater at the tip of the tube and thread management. Taking into account that the spiral heater maintains practically constant irrespective of electrical resistance temperature control thread is made of a material with a positive temperature coefficient (PTC).

In the glow plugs (GSK2) resistance to a new generation of thread management increase even more rapidly with increasing temperature than conventional glow plugs S-RSK. This means that the newer glow GSK2 rapidly (850 ? C for 4c) reach a temperature for starting the engine. They also operate at a low set temperature, the temperature of the glow plugs is limited to an uncritical level.

Thus, the glow plug GSK2 can operate for another three minutes after the engine starts. This feature further improves the heating of the engine in the engine warm-up phase and the initial motion with minimal emission of harmful substances in exhaust gases and noise.
