Sprayers
| The system uses special Common Rail injectors with hydraulic intensification, and an electric starter member (solenoid valve) for supplying the desired quantity of fuel into the combustion chamber.
|
To ensure accurate injection quantity of fuel injector opening should take place very quickly, which requires a high voltage supply ECU. After complete opening nozzle needle current supplied to SOLENOID valve is reduced to a value sufficient to hold the solenoid valve open. The amount of fuel injected is determined by the period of the opening of the spray gun and system pressure. After the termination of the supply voltage to the SOLENOID VALVE nozzle needle goes down and tightly shuts off the fuel under high pressure into the combustion chamber. Checking operation | - Using the current clamp tester engine, check the operation of the fuel injector. Clamp must meet the following requirements:
- the measurement range of more than 25 A;
- the frequency range of more than 100 kHz.
| - Connect to the nozzle. Install the current clamps around the nozzle head, start the engine at idle, and measure the current consumption of the nozzle and compare the current curve with the curve shown in the figure.
|
| - The magnitude of the phase current consumption (up to 12 A) depends on the speed of the crankshaft of the engine.
- The first part of the curve shows the pilot injection of fuel.
|
- Check the injector to fuel injection. Disconnect the connector from the nozzle and connect to the additional nozzle.
If the operation of the engine has not changed, not the checked atomizer injects fuel. If the engine is changed, it means that the checked atomizer is serviceable and injects fuel. This test does not allow to establish the amount of the fuel injection nozzle. If necessary, replace all the fuel injectors. - When the ignition is off, measure the voltage at the terminals 33 (the cylinder ?1), 36, and 39 (the cylinder ?3), 40 (cylinder ?2) and 37 of the ECM. Voltage: 0 V
- If the voltage is not correct, check the wiring. If the wiring is okay, replace the ECM.

|
Resistance measurement | - Disconnect the electrical connector from the nozzle.
| - Measure the resistance between the contacts of the connector. Resistance: 0.3-0.6 ohms at 20 ? C.
|
- Connect the injector electrical connector.
