Removal and installation of covers of timing
Details of installation of the front cylinder head cover of the engine 612 series | |
| - Details of installation of the front cylinder head cover of the engine 612 series shown in the illustration, which includes all the links in the text.
- Remove the cylinder head (3) (see. Section Removal and installation of a head (s) of cylinders).
- Remove the chain tensioner (9) (see. Section Removal and installation of components of timing).
- Remove the preliminary fuel pump (13) (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust).
- Unscrew the front of the cylinder head cover (5).
- Use a screwdriver to lift the ratchet (7) lock the upper chain guide (8).
| The guide will remain in the crankcase timing. |
- Pull forward and remove the front cover of the cylinder head (5), - try not to drop the guide pins.
- Before installation, carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces of the front cover and the cylinder head.
- Put on an interfaced surface of the lid sealing.
- Installation is in the reverse order. Track, that all fixture has been tightened with demanded effort.
- Finally, start the engine and check for any signs of leaks.

| - Details of the cover on the timing engine 612 series are shown in the illustrations, which include all the links in the text.
- Open the hood and fix it in an upright position.
- Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
- Remove the lower section of the soundproofing.
- Drain the cooling system (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust).
- Drain the engine oil (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust).
- Remove the trim panel of the cylinder head cover (3 and 4).
- Disconnect hoses cooling path (30 and 31).
- Remove the air intake hose (4/2).
- Remove the charge air hose tract (110/6), complete with a hose connected to it (9).
- Remove the electric cooling fan (10).
- Remove the injectors (Y76) (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust).
- Remove the cylinder head cover (5).
- Provernuv the crankshaft in the normal direction, bring the piston of the first cylinder to TDC - label of a camshaft and its bearing cap should be aligned.
- With the help of a special device (03), lock the flywheel / drive disk.
- Remove the chain tensioner (22) (see. Section Removal and installation of components of timing).
- Release the guide bracket.
- Remove the thermostat (see chap. System of cooling, heating and air conditioner).
- Remove the front cover (7) of the cylinder head (see. Above).
- Remove the accessory drive belt (see chap. Engine).
- Disconnect the electrical wiring from the compressor K / V (12).
- Otboltite compressor (12) and, without disconnecting the line refrigerator, take him aside.
- Disconnect the cooling line path, let down to the liquid heat exchanger lubrication system (see. Section Service lubrication system).
- Disconnect hoses (17 and 18) from the water pump (19).
- Remove the water pump (19) (see chap. System of cooling, heating and air conditioner).
- Remove the sleeve (21), charge air tract.
- Remove the bolts (24) securing the oil pan from the timing cover, the other tray only loosen bolts.
- Unscrew the M8 bolts (25) securing the timing cover to the cylinder head.
- Remove the timing cover.
- If the timing chain must be replaced, remove the tensioner accessory drive belt.
- If the cover will be replaced, remove the liquid heat exchanger lubrication system.
- Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces.
- Put on an interfaced surface of the lid sealing.
- Installation is performed in reverse order - do not forget to replace the guide pins.
- Finally, check the engine for signs of leakage of working fluids (oil, fuel, coolant, the coolant K / B and so on.). Also, clean the memory module on-board self-test (see chap. Systems of an electric motor).
