Removal and installation of the lock mechanism tailgate

1. Disconnect the negative (-) cable of the battery when the ignition is off. You must first remove the air filter box of the passenger compartment.

Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio security code, if any, address to Section Replacement of the battery.

2. Remove the trim of the tailgate or trunk lid, refer to the appropriate section.

3. Squeeze 8 clips (arrows on an illustration) lining (2) the license plate to the outside. To do this, the inner side of the cover on each clamping head corresponding diameter and depth and squeeze clamp. The head presses the stud clamp, separating it from the holder.

4. Remove the nut from the screw (1) and remove cover (2) with license plate with the tailgate.
5. Disconnect the cable (1) from the locking mechanism (2) (arrow in the illustration) and remove the plug.

Depending on the design you need to remove the cover to be able to disconnect a cable.

6. Remove the 2 screws (1) and remove the locking mechanism (2) with the lock of the door.

1. Secure the locking mechanism with two screws at the moment 9Nm tailgate.
2. Connect the cable with a locking mechanism and a Dock connector.
3. Install the patch with the license plate on the tailgate so that the clamps and screws into the holes. Strongly push the cover to the door and lock. Screw nuts.
4. Replace the trim of the tailgate or trunk lid, refer to the appropriate section.
5. Connect the negative (-) cable to the battery when the ignition is switched off. Replace the cabin air filter box. Enter the code of the radio and set the time on the clock.
